Chelsee Sawai, Co-Editor-in-Chief

Chelsee Sawai is a senior and a third-year journalist. She is also the co Editor-in-Chief this year. For the past 2 years, her article has been selected and published on the Best School Newspaper Online website, an accomplishment as only ten percent of submissions are selected and has also won the Best in State award at the Hawaii State Journalism Awards. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, going shopping, reading, golfing, and doing community service. She is on the cheerleading team and the golf team and is an officer for the Math Team and the Easter Seals Club, the secretary for the Mid-Pacific Athletes Club, the vice president for the Random Acts of Kindness Club and the Practical Skills Club, and a member of Student Ambassadors, the American Red Cross Club, Sign Language Club, Interact Club, Study Buddies, and the Do What You Love Club. This year in journalism, she hopes to lead the Na Pueo staff to success and to be the best leader she can be. She also hopes to post quality content for the student body, incorporate the latest news into Na Pueo’s newspaper issues and the topics that students would like to learn more about, and to make new friends and improve her skills as a journalist.
